Tristan Sleeping? Maybe....maybe not

Jonathan and I have come off about a month of very little sleep. For a long while Tristan was still going down 6-6:30 at night but then getting up for GOOD around 3-4:30am. I adjusted. I started to go to bed by 8 or so and felt with at least 6 hours of sleep I was ok. THEN a few weeks ago he decided that he was going to get up every few hours each night. This started happening with him standing up in the crib, but then afraid to get him self down so we had to come in and put him back on his stomach and re-insert the plug. We adjusted again. It was okay because Tristan would immediately fall back asleep. Well about a week and half ago, these every 2-3 hour wake ups didnt result with immediate sleep. This began our demise. HOWEVER thankfully that seems to have passed and now, Tristan is back to his once a night wakings at around 4-5am. We are determined however to regain some control over our house and sleeping bygone it! So today we decided that we would let Tristan cry it out and no matter what, we werent going in the room.(we did peek through the crack in the door and got a good chuckle when he was trying to hold his blanket and comfort himself. I saw him slowly get to the sitting position and put his head in his lap still hysterical and thats when I stopped looking...) Well upon hearing quiet after a LONG time of CRYING and SCREAMING...I went into Tristans room and found him asleep. Sitting up- or shall I say - half sitting. I felt bad and put him on his stomach and had to post the photos...Priceless I say.

Apprehensive but hopeful...

I am very much of the same opinions as Amber on the election. I told Amber several times that I would vote for a Biden Romney ticket but alas, that wasn't an option nor would it EVER be an option. We're told quite frequently nowadays that "the righteous need not fear". Maybe I'm not as righteous as I should be but I have to admit that I'm nervous about this current administration and the overall direction of our nation. I think that Obama has great potential to champion change but I believe strongly that changing for the sake of change alone can be more harmful than helpful. Anyway, all we can do now is raise our little Bechtold family as best we can and pray that our nation's leaders will lead by at least a sliver of divine inspiration. And so I sit here with my fingers crossed hoping that great things happen over the next few years...

Undecided

This was an exciting election. I tend to stay out of politics for the very reason that no party ever really "speaks" to me. There are issues on either side that I agree/disagree with and therefore its often NOT the party that gets my vote, but the person. These two presidential candidates were great in my opinion. They got people thinking, and discussing. They got people to vote and in my mind both men earned my respect. However the true reason I couldnt vote this election year, was because there were things on either side that I was vehemently opposed to. Would I have been worried about McCain? Yes. Am I worried about Obama? Yes. However Im excited for what will happen over the next few years....

I......

I
I AM … going to be 32 in a few weeks
I WANT… to have one more baby, and adopt #4
I HAVE … a weight obsession. ( I have 5 pound threshold in either direction)
I KEEP … chapstick with me at all times. If I don’t have it ive been known to buy a new one, or go home for some…
I WISH I COULD … not work because I won the lottery or something, and dedicate myself to charitable endeavors
I HATE … mean/evil people, and my current wardrobe issues…
I FEAR … anything bad that could happen to my loved ones.
I HEAR … Tristans late night cries and cringe at the thought of getting up ONE more time
I DON’T THINK … I will ever stop loving the chunkiness of Tristans baby legs
I REGRET … not doing what I really wanted to in college the first time
I LOVE … the word”mom”, lazy days, and being married, sitting at the park on a gorgeous fall/spring day, and running
I AM NOT … a church every Sunday kinda gal, but have a strong testimony of my faith
I DANCE … with my kids in my arms or in the kitchen with Jonathan, gone are the days of my youth performing, or dancing in clubs.
I SING …only in the car, or to Tristan.
I NEVER … thought I would end up living in Salt Lake City
I RARELY … am without a book to read
I CRY WHEN I WATCH … videos of when Elijiah was a baby.
I AM NOT ALWAYS …happy with what I have. Im working on that….
I HATE THAT … ive become a worrier
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT …all things politics( too many lies, and half truths)
I NEED … a garage
I SHOULD …eat better, and grow a garden
I HOPE ...to live a long life and die in my sleep next to Jonathan! LOL

Private or not private?

Okay I originally took the blog private as I found out that someone I wouldnt want to have access - did.
But over the course of the month or so that this blog has been private, Ive been getting emails from close friends and family that dont have gmail, saying that they cant log in anymore. Now these people can get a gmail account, but choose not to yes I know. However Ive decided to open it back up, and stop obsessing about the one person. Afterall, this individual probably could care less about the blog. And besides if my close friends and family cant see my latest and greatest pictures of the boys, why do I have this blog anyway? LOL!

Halloween PRT II (Elijiah's School party)

As a working mom, Im not able to volunteer as I would like to at Elijiahs school. So I decided to help where I can and planning the class Halloween party was something I could do. I took most of Friday off, and me and a few other room moms put together some activities for the kids. We had skeleton making, witch hands, bean bag toss, and some punch with dry ice. The whole school did a parade and then a carnival afterwards. I have to say it was a lot of fun.

Do you see Elijiah? He is near the front in his knight costume...

The tin man with Elijiah is a girl named Sara. I guess Elijiah is with her a lot during the day and they tend to play together. I met up with her mom at the end of school one day and she mentioned that Elijiah wrote Sara a note with his number on it. I guess he asked for a "playdate" The number was shy one digit. We got a chuckle out of the fact that our kindergartners are asking eachother for "playdates" and exchanging numbers! Whats up with that!!???

Halloween 2008

We held off on carving pumpkins till the last minute, afterall its been so warm here that most of the carved pumpkins were wilting! I think Jonathan and Elijiah had a lot of fun with their pumpkins and they turned out great if I do say so myself!
I'm sure that Amber will want to write a full recap and we need to download some pics of Elijiah, but I wanted to post the couple images I got of Tristan and his little dragon costume! It was so funny - he seemed to LOVE being in the costume and started laughing and beeming at everyone that he saw whilst in the guise of the mighty Dracco!

***We had a trick o treat at work and Jonathan met me and the kids. We had a lot of fun and Elijiah scored a bunch of candy. YUMMY!
