So with everything packed- including the camara our week has been filled with general work( our jobs ) school, headaches, sickness, packing and last night taking our first loads of stuff over to the new house!
Im over the moon thrilled to be in this house. Not everything on the wish list- but Im cool with that. Work to be done( finishing the basement ) little things here and there....but overall nothing too major. What my biggest problem now is making it MINE. Okay( ours ) but decorating ideas are all over the place. What colors to paint the walls, what furniture pieces to buy....accessories and details will look good.... I have a vision, its just hard not to want to run out and buy everything at once so the house looks done. I imagine a gradual decorating process...but im not terribly patient. Already annoyed I didnt jump at the chance to buy a couch that was on sale at Macy's that I loved. Now its back up to its reg price, and now a bit over my budget- GRR. However I will continue to scour the internet, craigslist, and furniture stores for things that will make our home - HOME.
So proud of Jonathan for making this a reality for our family- Thank you! Finally a place we can rest-settle-BE.
Up next??? Dinner parties! Come hungry friends and family!!

Raegan is in town!
Raegans hubby Joe got a new job in Oregon. So as they are relocating from Indiana to the west coast they decided to stop by for a day or so to visit and say hi. Its been a long time( since our grandmothers funeral last year) that I have seen my sister. She is just younger than I by almost 2 years. I wish I could say that we got along growing up as we were close in age...but that wasnt the case. I was a terrible older sister, and honestly its heartbreaking how self involved I was, and cared so little about any of my siblings until later. I also remember some terrible mean things I did to Raegan :( She has since forgiven me( THANKS RAEG ) and am so glad we are the greatest of friends now. Mom and Layne hosted a dinner at their new house and we all visited for a few hours.
Tristan has this new "look" that when you say "cheese" he tips his head and lifts his eye brows...funny child. See the castle toy he is playing with? Story to come in a few....
Nancy, Elana and baby Ian.
Raegans oldest- Sammy- so sweet and adorable. I still remember her as a baby- I had a serious love for this one...still do.
Johnny- well not a great picture of him( and doesnt it look like adam is green??weird)....but let me tell you...spittin' image of his mama!
Okay so Tristan and this castle. I dont know if it was because of all the kids, or Tristan thinks hes got his own monopoly over this toy, but literally he was carrying the thing all around the house. Everytime someone would come over to play with it, he would get up and move with it. Towards the end of the night he was getting tired and upset and really bothered if anyone touched the thing. He didnt want to share- poor kid.
He was attempting to move it away from Tyler when he started to melt down and I actually thought it was quite funny how attached he was to the thing...
I realized that I didnt have any pictures taken of Jessica and Sylah, in addition to my mom and dad....Ill have to snag those photos from other folks.
Coolest Hat!

My friend Carrie has just opened an ETSY store/ new blog with the cutest kids hats Ive ever seen!!! Check her stuff out!!!! I adore them...I want several. With a baby shower around the corner for a co-worker, my own two boys and lots of family and friends, I think this is the perfect gift for any kid!
Carrie - you are super talented and Im so impressed!

Art anyone?
Through a strange twist of luck, we are about to be the proud new owners of this original piece of art. Seriously in love with her stuff. Im soooo excited. Not sure where it will go in the house yet...but we will figure it out. Initially we decided not to buy it as the timing wasnt right for a variety of reasons. Casey( the artist ) contacted me regarding a new development and we decided to go for it anyway.

The time has come
Enough is enough. Our escape artist is going to get a rude awakening shortly. While QUITE pricy, my sanity is more important I think. Case in point. If the child doesnt want to nap-he climbs out. If he decides at 8pm he doesnt want to sleep, he climbs out and comes upstairs with books in hand for us to read to him. Jonathan finds it endearing and cute. Honestly so did I the first couple of days. Now Im just annoyed. This morning he woke up before 5am, and I thought he would be content to watch his movie for a while...letting me sleep just a little longer. No way says he...at 5:30 armed with a bunch of books he turns on my lamp, dumps the books on my head and says "Book!". Now its not that I dont love my adorable bugs- but come on! There isnt any threat that can keep him in his crib....but this invention well lets see who has the last laugh!!! HAHA! I cant wait to see his face once installed and he tries to get out. LOL! We are such mean parents!Monday, February 1, 2010

what did you do this weekend?
...Well we moved my mother and step father for the most part. I cannot tell you what an awful job it was- and still is for them. With many many men, and helpers, (hired a moving company) sunday still had them with another 26ft moving truck filled to the rim and no place to put it once in SLC. There were still odds and ends to go back today from the old house and the new house was packed full. My mom and Layne are depressed and tired. Its a challenge to downsize to a 2500 sq ft house (with an unfinished basement to make it 3500 sq ft) from a fully finished 5000 st ft + plus house. I think the game plan is to rent a storage unit and move a bunch of stuff back out of the house and into the storage unit until the basement is finished. Honestly though - they have SO much stuff. TIME for a DI RUN! Im sooo sorry you guys...what an awful move for you! On the plus size while a lot smaller for them, its a beautful house and I think they will be very happy with it once everything is organized.
As for houses and updates, we are still a few weeks away from closing on our home. The problem is that this being our "3rd" choice house, we were the back up offer on our "1st" choice home and as of last week, we may have a chance of getting that one after all. Its the same floor plan as the one we have now, BUT we like the colors of the cabinets, and granite a bit more, AND THE BASEMENT IS FINISHED all for 5k LESS than the house we are currently under contract with. SOOOOO- if the other buyers fall through - we will start the closing process AGAIN and lose 2K on the current house. However everything has to be done within 2 weeks. SO we are waiting to find out if it happens or not. The only bummer thing is-both houses are next to eachother haha!
