Worst ER experience ever! So when one has a migraine and in serious pain, do you think as a nurse, technician etc, you would speak loudly, keep lights on, bang doors coming and going? Yea me either! My 3 day headache broken up only a few hours at a time with medication only to come back ended late last night with a trip to the ER. On the pain scale it was an 8. The only time I say my headaches are a 10 on that pain scale is when I start to throw-up with them. So I was a little peeved when I was asked to take my clothes off( why you only need my arm!) Lights were on, people were talking loud, lots of comings and goings with DR, Nurses, Techs, Patient reps! GRRR
I also realized that I have an averse reaction to one of the drugs in the "cocktail" of stuff they give. Again I was not only totally out of it, but unable to control the "feeling of crawling out of my skin" for hours. I awoke out of a stupor angry, upset and even annoyed at Jonathan! Can you imagine! Here he had to take the day off, and took care of Tristan, me etc and I have the nerve to be upset with him! CRAZY.
Today im pain free, but still feel like the walking dead. The upside is that I now have another daily preventative medication used by cardio patients that people with migraines are seeing success with. GREAT! I love being a science experiment!

a day off
There are few days like Monday. After a few days of being indoors due to the weather, and being under the weather- I decided enough was enough and we HAD to venture out. I took the boys to the "dinosaur" museum and can I just say- I had one of those parenting days that makes you think you actually ARE doing a good job. The boys had a lot of fun running around and playing in the exhibits. Tristan was in awe of everything he saw. He would look up and around- and just say" WOW", WWWWOOOOOOWWWW", WoW" the entire time he would run as fast as his little legs would carry him and his arms flapping at his sides. They played nicely together, and whenever Elijiah was out of view Tristan would take off calling Elijiah till he found him- a fun game of hide a seek, peek-a-boo, and brotherly love. We came home and they played star wars- Elijiah letting Tristan use some of his beloved collection. They played kitchen together and helped me cook dinner. It was a magical - wonderful day with my children.

300$ out the window.....
How does one do this you ask? Well driving down the road with a terrible migraine, having to roll the window down because you have to be sick...with the wind at gale force you dont even notice your glasses being pulled from your face in the midst of sickness and pain. You only realize as you stumble up the stairs home and wonder why everything is so blurry??! After putting your hands to your head you realize your glasses are gone and then it hits you when they were lost.....:(
It was a sad night.

A New Year
And so it begins- a new year. January is always depressing and I thought this was a wonderful picture. It captures both the dead of winter, but a sunrise-which is what a new year is all about right? The chance to start over or new beginnings. I believe that our family will have more of those to come- the new beginnings thing. Im am also hoping for much of 2009 to fade into a distant memory. There is too much to recap and much of it was difficulties so its best to leave it behind. I made some very personal resolutions if you will and I am hoping that Ill be able to post next year and say that I accomplished them. And so with all that we deal with daily in our crazy world- to Jonathan who asked " How Much?" to which my reply, " Lots and Lots". More than he even can know.
